When You Pray: A Study of Six Biblical Prayers

Prayer can feel intimidating or uncertain, but Scripture shows us that God welcomes our honest, unpolished, dependent prayers. When You Pray walks through six meaningful prayers in the Bible, helping us learn how real people approached God with praise, lament, confession, intercession, and deep trust.
 

This study highlights prayers from both the Old and New Testaments and explores different kinds of prayer: adoration, petition, lament, intercession, unity, and the model prayer Jesus taught His disciples. Through these examples, we see that prayer is not about having the perfect words, but about bringing our real selves before a loving and attentive Father.
 

Our group will explore each prayer, understand its significance, and consider how its truths shape our own prayer lives. As we study, we’ll grow in confidence, authenticity, and consistency in talking with God.

This trimester, our women’s group will be reading The Well-Watered Womanby Gretchen Saffles, book-club style. No workbooks, no pressure. Just a circle of women reading, reflecting, and growing together. Through honest conversation and gospel truth, we’ll explore what it means to care for our souls, find wellness in Christ, and rest in His sustaining grace.
